Resentment

Meetings

The Problem / Self -Centered Fear

* If I'm the problem, I can't be the solution.

* Disease: Dis- Ease

* Selfishness - Self-Centeredness that we think is the root of our trouble.

* Alcohol was but a symptom of the problem.

* Alcoholics are self centered to the extreme.

* The chief activator of our defects has always been self-centered fear.

* I may not be much but I'm all I think about.

* Fear is a darkroom where negatives are developed.

* FEAR: False Expectations Appearing Real

* FEAR : Face Everything And Recover!

Drinking / Slip

* Sick and tired of being sick and tired.
 

* You never have to hurt from alcohol again.

* If you don't want to slip, stay away from slippery places.

* Stay away from people places and things

* You are either moving towards a drink or away from a drink

* A slip begins long before the first drink.

* Slip: Sobriety losing it's priority

* If you don't remember your last drunk, You haven't had it yet.

* Keep it green.

* One is to many and a thousand is never enough.

* Insanity: doing the same thing over and over
   and expecting different results.

* You could be one drink away from never being sober again.

* Poor me, poor me, Pour me a drink.

* There are no good reasons to drink, only bad excuses.

* Hit your knees.....not the bottle!

* Pick up the phone, before you pick up a drink!

* Their is nothing so bad that a drink won't make worse!

* This is the easier softer way!

* We suffer from alcohol-ISM, not alcohol-WASM

* We are only one drink away from a drunk.

* It's that first drink that gets you drunk.

* The fist one will set you up, the rest will knock you down.

* If you don't drink you can't get drunk,

* Be careful behind every skirt may be a slip.

* GOD: Group of Drunks

* GOD: Good Orderly Direction

* I can't, he can, I think I'll let him.

* God will do for you what you can't do for yourself,
   but he won't do what you can.
 

* Two things to know about God.  1) There is one.  2) You're not it.

* Stop playing God.

* Trust God, clean house, serve others

* Make God your first resource, not your last resort.

* Do your best and leave the rest to God.

* Praying is talking to God,  Meditating is listening.

   it's thinking about yourself less.

Steps / Sobriety and Service

* It's easier to stay sober then to get sober.

* The Steps are in order for a reason.

* The first three Steps: I can't, He can, I think I'll let him.

* In AA the elevator doesn't work, you have to use the steps!

* Half measures availed us nothing

* We may be only one drink away from a drunk,
   but we can be 12 steps away from that first drink.

* The Steps protect us from drinking,
   the Traditions protect the program from us.

* NUTS: Not Using The Steps

* Life is a dance--when you learn the steps.

* Recovery is an inside job.

* The Quality of Sobriety can never be measured by Time.

* Sobriety is God's gift to you, What you do with it is your gift to God.


* AA is not for people who need it, It's for people who want it,

* Service keeps you sober.

* Pass it on.

* You have to give it away in order to keep it.

* It's in giving that we receive, It's in self forgetting that one finds.

* People don't care how much you know,
  until they know how much you care.

* If you have the ability, You have the responsibility.

* We carry the Message not the mess.

* We can't be all things to all people.

* It's a program of attraction rather then promotion.

* Our Singleness of purpose;
  To carry the message to the next suffering alcoholic.

I am responsible:
When anyone anywhere reaches out for help, I want
the hand of AA to always be there.
For that I am responsible.

This we owe to AA's future:
To keep our fellowship united.
for on AA unity depends our lives,

Alcoholics are
 egomaniac with an inferiority complex.

Alcoholics are like tea bags, they only work in hot water.

Alcoholics are the only people that try and solve loneliness with isolation.

AA is like an adjustable wrench, it fits every kind of nut.

AA is for participants, not Spectators.

I never met anyone too dumb to stay sober,
but I met lots of people who were too smart.


A GOOD day is when everything goes my way and I don't drink,
A GREAT day is when nothing goes my way and I don't drink.
